How to Play Krillion: Rules, the 7 Daily Prompts & Scoring

Krillion is a free browser trivia game, and learning how to play it takes about one dive: open krillion.io, press BEGIN DESCENT, and answer seven prompts, identical for every player that day, with 25 seconds per prompt to type one answer. Rarer answers score more and sink you deeper. When the seventh answer resolves, the dive completes and you surface to a result screen — the whole thing takes a few minutes.

Verification note: these rules were checked against the live game in September 2026 (dive numbering like "dive #54" was current then). Krillion updates without a changelog, so if the game ever behaves differently from this page, trust the game — and tell us.

How does Krillion work?

Krillion works as a shared daily trivia dive: every player gets the same seven open prompts for one day, types a single answer per prompt within 25 seconds, and the game scores each answer by how rare it was among that day's players. Correct-but-common answers score little; rare correct answers sink deeper and score up to 100. The result is a total score, a dive depth and a percentile — here is the full loop, step by step.

How do you start a Krillion dive?

Open krillion.io — free, no download, no account required for the daily Dive — and press the BEGIN DESCENT button. There is exactly one shared challenge per day: the seven prompts you see are the same ones every player worldwide gets until the next reset at midnight US Eastern. That shared set is the whole point — everyone dives the same water, then compares what they pulled up.

What do Krillion's seven prompts look like?

Each prompt is an open question with many valid answers. On the dive we played (dive #54), the seven prompts were:

1. Name a country where English is an official language
2. Name an animal that lives in the Arctic or Antarctica
3. Name a dead language
4. Name a Mario character
5. Name a country with the letter Y in its name
6. Name a sport played with a stick, bat, or club
7. Name a type of bicycle

What happens between answers?

After each answer you see its verdict — tier, points, and how far it sank you — then press DESCEND ▼ when you're ready for the next prompt. Two details matter:

• The clock only runs during a prompt, so you can breathe between answers and read your verdict properly.
• Miss the 25-second window and that prompt banks zero ("the clock beat you to it"); an answer the game won't accept shows "NOTHING LANDED" for zero instead. The answer validator explains what the game accepts before you risk a dive on it.

How does Krillion scoring work?

Every accepted answer lands in a rarity tier, and deeper tiers are worth more: common answers float near the surface for a handful of points, while genuinely rare-but-correct answers sink toward the krillion tier for the big scores. Your final result combines the seven tiers into a total score, a dive depth, and a bearing.

What happens at the end of a dive?

The result screen wraps up everything at once:

• DIVE COMPLETE summary — final score and depth, with the per-prompt "Catch" log (every prompt, your answer, and its points)
• A percentile — "better than X% of today's players"
• Logbook stats — streak, dives played, average, best (see the archive guide)
• COPY RESULT — a share card for socials
• A countdown to your next dive, plus the archive, themed packs, and Keep Diving ∞

Where can you play Krillion, and what does it cost?

Only on the official site: krillion.io. Krillion Wiki is a fan-made guide site — we don't host or embed the game. The daily dive is free (what costs money); packs are free during beta, and the archive-opening Unlimited unlock is a one-time $5.

No official app is documented — Krillion is built to run in a modern desktop or mobile browser, and the answer library here works the same way.

How do you get better at Krillion?

Three habits, in order of payoff:

1. Study past sheets. The answer library archives every day's official answers with tiers — see what rare looked like before you dive.
2. Drill weak categories. The theme packs train one domain at a time with the same scoring as the daily game.
